Wilbur "Wade" Whitfield Sr.

Wilbur “Wade” Whitfield Sr., age 86, of Pittsboro, died Friday, March 16, 2018 at home.

Wade was born in Orange County, on March 25, 1931 to the late John F. Whitfield and Swannie Hobby Whitfield. He was also preceded in death by a grandson Brad Whitfield, three brothers Melvin Whitfield, Raymond Whitfield, Albert Whitfield, two sisters Blanche Norwood, and Lucy Pollard.

Surviving relatives include his wife Minerva Whitfield, three sons, Wilbur Whitfield Jr. and wife Luann of Pittsboro, Keith Whitfield and wife Rhonda of Apex, Rick Whitfield and wife Terry of Pittsboro, one daughter Sharon Autry and husband Jerry of Durham, four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one brother Franklin D. Whitfield and wife Susan of Efland, and one sister Mary W. Andrews of Hillsborough.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 2PM to 3PM at Lystra Baptist Church. The Funeral Service will follow at 3PM with Rev. Tim Williford presiding. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.
