Vernon Wilson Braxton

Vernon “Wilson” Braxton, age 91, of Pittsboro, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Cambridge Hills Assisted Living.

Wilson was born in Alamance County, on December 16, 1926 to the late William Algie Braxton and Ida Mae Lindley Braxton. He was also preceded in death by one grandson Glenn Braxton, Jr. and brother Grady Braxton.

Surviving relatives include his wife Dorothy Sturdivant Braxton, three sons Vernon Braxton of Apex, Glenn Braxton and wife Penny of Garner, Robert Braxton and wife Robin of Goldston, one daughter Jane Dougherty and husband Richard of Whispering Pines, one brother Charm Braxton and wife Faye of Pittsboro, one sister Pheobia Mann of Pittsboro, four grandchildren Brian Braxton and wife Crystal, Chris Braxton and wife Danielle, Kirby Ellis and husband James, Eric Braxton and wife Ashley, and six great-grandchildren Parys, Addie, Camden, Hayden, Henley, and Finleigh.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 9, 2018 from 6PM to 8PM at Donaldson Funeral Home & Cremation Griffin Chapel. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 11AM at Pittsboro Baptist Church with Rev. Tripp Harmon presiding. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery with Military Rites.
