Travis Wayne Hathaway

Travis Wayne Hathaway, age 83, of Pittsboro, died Thursday, May 11, 2023, at home. 

Travis was born in Durham County on February 3, 1940, to the late Roger Person Hathaway and Vera Kennedy Hathaway. 

Surviving relatives include his wife, Kathy Ivey Hathaway, two sons, Brad Dawson and wife Tracy of Zebulon, Jon Dawson, and wife Lisa of Clayton, four grandchildren, Ainsley, Liam, McKinley, Maya, and two sisters, Patricia Barbour of Pittsboro, and Sheila Crabtree and husband Ray of Chapel Hill. 

A Funeral Service will be held Monday, May 15, 2023, at 11AM at Bynum UMC with Pastor Paul Burgess and Pastor Wesley Thomas presiding. Burial will follow at Bynum UMC cemetery with military honors.  

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made in Travis’s memory to Bynum United Methodist Church 774 Bynum Church Road Pittsboro, NC 27312.
