Timothy James Grinnell

Timothy James Grinnell, 28, of Pittsboro passed away on December 25, 2020. Tim was born on May 21,1992 in Kingston, New York to William and Cean Grinnell. He spent most of his childhood in the Triangle. Tim received his AAS of Business Administration from Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute.

Tim was passionate about gemology and had GIA certifications for Colored Gemstones and Diamonds. He was also an antique collector and had a variety of interesting items accumulated through his travels, although he was especially fond of vintage tools.

We will fondly remember Tim for his sense of humor, adventurous spirit, and caring heart. He was charismatic and memorable to all. There weren’t any strangers to Tim, just friends he hadn’t met yet. He was a loving son, a loyal brother, and a sincere friend. We know he is reunited with his beloved dog, Carbon.

A service to honor Tim’s life will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, January 4, 2021 at Donaldson Funeral Home and Crematory. Attendees are asked to observe appropriate COVID-19 precautions. The family will receive guests and friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to the charity of your choice.
