Melvin Roy Clark

Melvin Roy Clark, 68, formerly of Pittsboro, NC, passed away at home early Sunday morning, November 1, 2020, in Concord, NC. 

A native of Chatham County, NC, Melvin was born in 1952 to the late Roy Clark and Bertha Yates.  He graduated in 1970 from Pittsboro High School and it was there that he met his soon-to-be bride of 48 years, Sandra “Kaye” Brewer.  After high school, Melvin attended UNC-CH and was an absolute diehard for Carolina basketball. Melvin diligently worked for the K-Mart Corporation and retired as the Raleigh store manager after 36 years of dedicated service. He was an active, life-long member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.  Melvin spent many vacations relaxing with his family at the beach. He was a loving father, a faithful husband and an honorable man.

In addition to his wife, Melvin is survived by his two daughters, Brooke Sparks (Jarrett) of Concord and Kimberly Clark (Jason Barker) of Jefferson, NC; his two grandchildren, Grant and Olivia; and his brother, Danny Clark (Linda) of Liberty, NC.

The family will receive friends at 1:00PM, Friday, November 6, 2020 at Donaldson Funeral Home and Crematory – 396 West St. Pittsboro, NC 27312. The funeral service will be held at 2:00PM.  Following the service, Melvin will be laid to rest at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.
