Jessie "David" Johnson passed away unexpectedly at his home in Pittsboro, NC on Friday February 5, 2021. He was born in 1963.
David was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking, kayaking, archery and sport shooting. he lived in Jacksonville, Florida for a time and enjoyed fishing alongside dolphins and manatees. He enjoyed going to yard sales and visiting old cemeteries. He was very proud of his southern heritage and was an active member with the Sons of the Confederacy. He loved his Confederate brothers and sisters and was proud to stand with them. David inherited a love for animals from his mother, Annie Mae Johnson (deceased), and at various times owned dogs, cats, snakes, birds and even a tarantula. He had multiple bird feeders and loved to sit on the porch and watch the birds.
David was a quiet individual with a kind soul....
David is survived by his brother, Charles Johnson Jr; his significant other, Jeanne Painter; her children; Amanda Turner,Mandy Hugyez and Lacy Painter, David's "grandkids", Lane, Kinley, Neil, Monica, Olivia, Cordelia and Kiara. David's immediate family included Tom Boone, Anne Boone Strickland, Loretta Boone Hackney, Teresa Boone, Kathy Boone Silverman as well as his two special animal companions, Duke and Bubba.
A Visitation will be held11:30AM at Donaldson Funeral Home, Saturday, February 20, 2021.
