Della Margaret (Maness) Farrell

Della Margaret Farrell, age 88, residing in Pittsboro, North Carolina passed away in the hospital on Saturday, September 26, 2020.  Margaret was born on November 26, 1931 in Siler City, North Carolina to the late Lewis and Laura Lee (Brown) Maness.  On September 8, 1950 she married Gurney Ray Farrell, Jr. who preceded her in death.  She is also preceded in death by, four sisters, and three brothers. 

Margaret is survived by her daughters, Dianne Lee of Carolina Beach, Patricia Batchelor of Pittsboro, and Ann Nochlin (Bruce) of Pittsboro; four granddaughters, Kristen Breedlove (Mike), Amanda Barnes (Brad), Melissa Adasme (Ryan), Katlyn Selph; five great grandchildren, Cameron, Miken, Skylar, Hunter, and Theodore; several nieces and nephews, and a very special niece, Mary Plasterer of Elkhart, Indiana. Margaret’s most cherished moments were spending time with her family. She loved nothing more than time spent talking, sharing stories, and making her family happy.

Margaret was employed as a dental assistant retiring from the UNC School of Dentistry in Chapel Hill.  She loved working with the students and faculty in the Endodontics Department.  Even after retirement she continued to work for Dr. Noah Wilson and his son, Dr. Rouse Wilson until later in life.  She was happiest when she was helping people and making them smile. 

A private service held for the immediate family members.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date at her home church Hanks Chapel UCC in Pittsboro for her church family and many friends.

In lieu of flowers the family ask for memorial contributions to be made in Margaret’s memory to Hanks Chapel Church P.O. Box 366 Pittsboro, NC 27312.
