Betty Jane Mabbott, age 74, of Fearrington Village, Pittsboro, North Carolina passed away peacefully, her husband holding her hand. Betty ended her 21-year battle with cancer and the side effects of treatment on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at UNC Health Care Hospice, Pittsboro, North Carolina.

Betty was born January 5, 1947, in Green Bay, WI, the daughter of Luther and Rose Marie (Hoslet) Price. On August 10,1974 Betty married Richard L Mabbott at Terrace Shores Evangelical Free Church on Green Lake, Wisconsin. Betty and family moved from Wisconsin to North Carolina in 1987. Betty was a nurse in both Wisconsin and North Carolina for 20 years before she had to retire due to complications of the lung cancer treatment.

Survivors include her husband Richard L Mabbott of Fearrington Village, a son, Jason R (Sheetal) Mabbott of Cary NC, a grandson, Arjun Jason Mabbott of Cary, NC, her mother Rose Price and one brother, Richard Price both of Green Bay, Wisconsin, many nieces and nephews, and five foster children. Betty was preceded in death by Father Luther Price and one brother Robert Price.

Betty and her husband Richard have a grave site and memorial next to his parents in The Green Lake Center, Wisconsin cemetery. Betty’s wishes are to be cremated and her husband to keep her remains until he passes, and both remains are buried together in the Green Lake Center Cemetery. Grave side services will be conducted for both by Pastor Gary Zacharias of Terrace Shores Evangelical Free Church at that time. Per Betty’s request there will be no reception for her at this time.
