Barbara (Rose) Pettis, 68, of Governors Club in Chapel Hill, NC died on February 24, 2023 after a short illness. Barbara was born in Midland TX and is the daughter of the late William D. Rose and Virginia (Owen) Rose. Barbara is survived by her husband Ted Pettis, her son, Matthew S. Downs of CO and her daughter, Allison Rose-Sonnesyn of VA. Barbara was a was a very strong believer in God and was a member of the Christian Science denomination. She served and traveled all over as a Ministerial Educator. Barbara had a refined sense of style and studied architecture in college. She thought of herself as an artist and had impeccable taste for interior design. She was a devoted mother and loving wife. However, she will be remembered most for the loving, healing comfort she brought to many through her life’s work as a Christian Science Practitioner, Lecturer, and Teacher.
