Richard “Dick” Harry Goodwin, loving husband, father, and grandfather, age 84, has passed from this life on June 29, 2018 at The Arbor at Galloway Ridge.
Richard was born in Emporium, Pennsylvania on November 1, 1933 to the late Vernon D. Goodwin and Ella Mae Loomis Goodwin.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Jackie, his devoted children Bill and his wife Sharon, Bob and his wife Kathy, and Diane; his grandchildren Ailsa, Robert, Jennifer and her husband Tim, Christina and her husband Jason, Codte, and his great-grandchildren Brianna and Timmy.
Dick lived in Emporium, Pennsylvania until moving to Floral Park, New York. He attended Hofstra College and graduated with an MBA degree and was recognized in the Who’s Who of students in American Colleges. He was employed by Liggett and Myers Tobacco Company and worked as an Assistant Treasurer for forty-four (44) years.
Dick was proud to be a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and participated in many various charitable activities. He enjoyed sharing kindness and happiness to all he met and especially loved spending his time with his beloved grandchildren, devoting many hours to creating special moments. Dick dedicated his life giving love and receiving love from everyone he knew. He was kind, patient, gentle, and lived his life for the living.
