Yolanda Helen Netti, known to most as "Honeydoo," age 96, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. She was born on November 11, 1929, in Morristown, New Jersey, at her family home on Western Avenue to her parents, Rose and Leonard Netti. She was the seventh of nine children in a close-knit Italian family. When Yolanda was seven years old, her family moved to Methuen, Massachusetts after her father was asked by members of the Italian assemblies to help establish a meeting for Italian-speaking believers in the area. With the support of the Bolton family and the Bolta Rubber Company, the Nettis relocated to Methuen where a small storefront gathering eventually grew into a Gospel Hall that continues to serve the community today.
Yolanda attended local schools in Methuen, including the Sargent School, Ashford School, Central School, and later graduated from Searles High School. At the age of thirteen, after attending a series of Gospel meetings, she read the scripture, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." That night she trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and was saved, a faith that remained the foundation of her life. After high school, Yolanda worked while attending McIntosh Business School in Lawrence, Massachusetts, completing a two-year business program. She began her professional career at Woolworths before holding office positions with Kidd Lamp Company and later with Dr. Killeen, a chiropractor, where she managed his office for seven years. She later spent time in Torrington, Connecticut working at the Needle Factory alongside her sister. Returning to Massachusetts, she worked as a secretary at Stone and Webster
Engineering in Boston, where she commuted daily for seven years. After that, she worked at Avco Corporation for twelve years. Yolanda eventually became Executive Secretary to the Distribution Center Manager at Wyeth Laboratories in Andover, Massachusetts, where she worked for twenty-one years before taking early retirement.
Throughout her working life, Yolanda faithfully cared for her elderly parents during their later years. After their passing, she sold the family home and moved into a condominium. In April of 2004, Yolanda moved to Pittsboro Christian Village together with her late sister Olga, where they were reunited with their late brother Emanuel who was also living there. She enjoyed the fellowship and Christian community there and spent her later years surrounded by friends and family. Yolanda will be remembered for her quiet faith, devotion to family, diligent work ethic, and
lifelong commitment to the Lord. Her life was a testimony to the words of Scripture she believed as a young girl: "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved." - Acts 16:31.
A graveside service will be held at Chatham Memorial Park, 13260 US Highway 64 West, Siler City, NC, on Tuesday, March 17 at 11:00 a.m.
Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to serve the Netti family.
