William "Bill" Donaldson Smith

William Donaldson Smith, Age 87, of Moncure died Friday, December 16th 2022.

Mr.Smith was born in Richmond County on August 31, 1935 to the late William Tell and Rosa Smith.

He was also preceded in death by wife Dorothy Sue Reese Smith, Sons Ricky LeRoy Smith, William LeDon Smith, Step daughter Vicki Covington, Step son Randy Wimberly, Brother James David, & Sisters Anna Belle & Mildred.

Surviving relatives include; his wife, Sarah Smith of the home; son, Shannon Smith (Robin) of Bear Creek; grandchildren, William Joseph Smith (Tori) of New Hill, Tabitha Smith of Morehead; great-grandchildren, William Jase Smith, Wyatt Joseph Smith, Ella Reese Smith, Tegan Carolyn Smith; step-children, Danny Wimberly (Marie),Theresa Parker (Mike),  Luann Turlington (Rodney); plus multiple step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

A visitation will be held from 6-8:00PM, Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Donaldson Funeral Home in Pittsboro. 

The Funeral will be held 1:00PM, Friday, December 23rd at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Little and Rev. Wesley Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Chromosome Disorder Outreach.
