William "Bill" Benson Partin

William Benson “Bill” Partin, aged 82, passed away on August 4, 2024, at his home in Apex, North Carolina, with his family by his side.

Born on August 12, 1941, Bill dedicated much of his career to skilled trades, working as a welder at Newport News Shipbuilding, a position at the UNC Cogeneration Plant in Carrboro, NC, and later as a Maintenance Supervisor at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, NC.

Bill was a loving husband to Betty Partin, a devoted father to his daughter Susan Roberson (Rick), and a caring brother to Phillip Partin. His life was enriched  by his beloved nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, W. Benson Partin and Virginia Collins Partin and three sisters, Joyce Reheis, June Aguilar, and Peggy Howe.

Known for his passion for auto racing and working on cars, Bill also enjoyed camping and boating, pursuits that brought him much joy and relaxation. Bill’s personality as a loving husband, father, and brother will be fondly remembered by those who know him.

A celebration of life service will be held at Mount Pisgah Baptist Church on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 11:00 AM, with visitation prior to the service at 10:00AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions to be made in Bill’s memory to UNC Hospice 211 Friday Center Drive Suite 2041 Chapel Hill, NC 27517.
