Wayne R Frye

Wayne Reid Frye, age 64, of Sanford (formerly Pittsboro) NC died Saturday, April 23, 2022.

Wayne was born January 14,1958 to Billy Junior Frye and the late Alma Sanders Arnold.

Surviving relatives include his father, Billy Junior Frye and step-mother Betty Frye of Pittsboro, one brother, Scottie Frye of Moncure, NC , one sister, Marilyn Grant (Warren) of Apex, NC, special nephews Kevin Spivey (Natasha) of Sanford, NC and Bruce Colmon Collins III of Chapel Hill, NC, niece Victoria Cotton (Jamie) of Pittsboro, NC , one daughter Mandy Frye of Asheboro, NC, three grandchildren , Victoria, Daniel and Jon Frye and two great grandchildren Sophia and Isla, two special great nephews, Kevin Spivey, Jr and Mason Spivey, along with several other great nieces and nephews.

Wayne worked for many years for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he retired.

Wayne loved fishing, drawing and his cars, the flashier the better.  He moved from Pittsboro to Sanford several years ago where he enjoyed living in the country where it was still simple and quiet.

A private service will be held at a later date.
