Wanda Alice (Clark) Hudgins, 65, of Pittsboro passed away at Duke Hospital on January 10th, 2024, and is joyfully with Jesus in heaven. She is the daughter of the late Alvin M. Clark and Mrs. Louise (Wright) Clark. She is survived by her loving husband "Charlie" Charles R. Hudgins, her beloved son, Jason Barker, and her mother Louise Clark. Two brothers, Elbert, and Arthur Clark. Two sisters, Wilma Clark Williams, and Charity Clark Campbell. Three beautiful and sweet foster daughters Jenasis Barnes, Jacquelynn Clark, and Jessica Harnishfeger. Wanda loved beyond measure her family and her Pittsboro Baptist Church family and they loved her.
Wanda was first and foremost, a faithful follow of Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. She was a true disciple, sharing the good news of the gospel with everyone she could. She was kind and caring with a sweetness that drew many people to her. Wanda had a unique ability to make things beautiful, she especially enjoyed flower gardening and home furnishing design, her style was much admired, she had that special God given touch, and was able to make everything beautiful.
Wanda loved the color white; she saw the color as a clean slate that she could build upon, creating beauty from. I also believe she saw white as a representation of the cleansing of our sin, giving us redemption and forgiveness through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. One of her final requests was that those who attend her funeral service wear something white in honor of our Savior’s sacrifice and the purity he provides.
Although Wanda loved flowers, her request was that Memorial contributions/ donations in lieu of flowers be made to Pittsboro Baptist Church, 121 West Salisbury Street, Pittsboro, NC 27312
Funeral service will be held at the Pittsboro Baptist Church, with Rev. Peter McDonald officiating on Saturday January 20th, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. followed by a reception in the Church fellowship Hall. A burial will take place immediately after the reception at the Bynum UMC Cemetery.
Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to serve the Hudgins family.
