Tracey Rockett

Sharyn Tracey Rockett “Tracey,” 63 of Siler City, NC died Friday, December 6, 2024. A native of Richmond, VA, she moved to North Carolina to be closer to her children and grandchildren.

Tracey loved her family more than anything and adored being Amah to her grandchildren. Tracey is survived by her mother and stepfather, Carole & Michael Tarr of Richmond; stepmother Mary Campbell of Richmond; children Robert (Sabrea) of Pittsboro, NC, and Rachel (Robert) of Chapel Hill, NC; and grandchildren Gavin, Lyle, and Grace. She was predeceased by her father, John Campbell.

Tracey was also a mom and grandma figure to many. She loved her chosen family fiercely.

Tracey was an avid seamstress, outfitting her family their whole lives. She made wedding dresses for her daughter and daughter-in-law, Halloween costumes first for Robert and Rachel every year, and then for her grandchildren. Tracey made baby blankets for countless family and friends. She showed her love through sewing.

Tracey began her career as an operator with C&P Telephone and retired from Verizon as a manager. There she made lifelong friendships and gained an encyclopedic knowledge of area codes. Tracey loved dogs, and in her retirement found joy working with the dogs and people of Hair of the Dog Grooming Studio. She fostered several dogs with Carolina Boxer Rescue before adopting her beloved foster fail, Moose.

As an organ donor, Tracey will live on and improve others’ lives.

The family will receive visitors from 1 to 4pm on Sunday, December 15 at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, 396 West St., Pittsboro, NC 27312.
