Susie Mae (Ledford) Walsh

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Susie Walsh, age 90, on February 15, 2022. There was never a more loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Susie was born and raised in Andrews, NC to Lush and Hattie Ledford. The only daughter of 4 children Susie preceded in death by her brothers Jack and Billy and is survived by her brother James and his wife Becky of Toccoa GA. 
Susie served in the United States Air Force where she met her now late husband William (Bill) Walsh. Bill was also an Air Force veteran. For many years, Susie volunteered with the Disabled American Veterans in Goldsboro. 
Together, Susie and Bill raised 3 children in many parts of the world before settling in at Seymour Johnson AFB in Goldsboro, NC. She is survived by her 3 devoted children; her daughter Mary Walsh Sheppard married to Jeff Sheppard of Pittsboro, NC, son Billy Walsh married to Rhonda Walsh of Wilmington, NC and son Michael David Lush Walsh married to Mary Margaret Walsh of Durham, NC. 
A most loving grandmother, Susie is survived by 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 19 from 6:00PM till 7:00PM at Donaldson Funeral Home, 396 West St. Pittsboro, NC. Reverend Ray Gooch will be officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery in Goldsboro, NC
