Sue Womble Loy

Sue Womble Loy, age 81, of Pittsboro, died Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Cambridge Hills Assisted Living.

Sue was born in Durham County, North Carolina on May 22, 1944, to the late Lewis Womble and Elizabeth Poythress Womble.

Surviving relatives include one daughter, Robyn Walker and husband Chris of Pittsboro, one son; Joey Thomas of Pittsboro, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and two brothers; Jimmy Womble and wife Janie of Chapel Hill, and Ray Womble and wife Sharon of Chapel Hill.

The family will receive friends Saturday, November 22, 2025, from 11:00AM to 1:00PM at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory Griffin Chapel.  

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made in Sue’s memory to Pittsboro United Methodist Church P.O. Box 716 Pittsboro, NC 27312.
