Shirley Marie (Gooch) Ripley

Mrs. Shirley Ripley, 86, passed away Tuesday morning, April 20, 2021 at her home in Pittsboro, NC.
A native of Durham County, Shirley Marie Gooch was born August 7, 1934 to the late Clyde and Carrie Oakley Gooch. She loved her family, her church, dancing in the sand at Myrtle Beach where the family used to camp and her collection of porcelain dolls.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Andrew Louis Ripley, Jr.; her sons, Thomas R. Hayes (Leslie) of Winston Salem, NC, Ector "Pat" Hayes (Diane) of Pittsboro and Dana Ripley (Paula) of Durham, NC; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ripley was preceded in death by her son, Andrew Louis Ripley, III and her brother, Paul Gooch.

A Graveside service will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Pittsboro, NC.
Rev. Robert Elmore will officiate the service.
