Rose Elizabeth (Ellis) Hill

Rose Elizabeth Hill, 79, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 31, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Rose lived a life rooted in faith, love, and devotion. She dedicated 42 years of her life working as a banker, where she was known for her kindness, integrity, and servant’s heart.

Outside of her career, Rose found her greatest joy in the blessings God gave her, most importantly, her family. She loved deeply and selflessly, always putting others before herself and reflecting Christ’s love in the way she cared for those around her. Her home was a place of comfort, peace, and warmth.

She had a special love for God’s creation. In the springtime, she found joy in watching the flowers bloom and the creatures play, often taking quiet moments to admire the beauty the Lord placed all around her. These moments reflected her gentle spirit and grateful heart.

Above all, Rose’s life was a testament to her faith. She loved the Lord with all her heart and trusted Him in all things. Her faith was her foundation, her strength in difficult times, and her guiding light throughout her life. Though she will be deeply missed, her family rejoices in the promise that she is now at peace in the presence of her Savior.

Rose was the daughter of the late Willy Lee Ellis and Dora Edmondson Ellis. She was also preceded in death by three sisters: Bonnie May Ellis Goff, Kathrine (Kay) Ellis Hulon, Betsy Fay Mims and two brothers, Edward Ellis and Jesse (Bud) Ellis.

She is survived by her loving husband, Coyn Gene Hill;  her two daughters, Cathy Hatley and husband Steve, and Ashley Blake and husband Jason; her five grandchildren, Michael Hatley (Mary Lee Hatley), Heather Hatley, Dayton Hicks (Julia Hicks), Levi Hicks, and Jaylee Blake; her two great-grandchildren, Stetson and Colt Hatley; and one sister, Jacki Ellis Hill (Lester Hill), and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on April 4, 2026, at 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Donaldson Funeral Home out of Pittsboro, 396 West St, Pittsboro, NC 27312. Interment to follow immediately at Westwood Cemetery in Carrboro, NC.

She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of faith and love will live on in all who knew her.
