Paul Troutman Obituary

Paul Troutman, 92, passed away peacefully at Galloway Ridge on June 21, 2023.  Paul was born November 23, 1930, in West Lawn, PA to the late Eura and Norman Troutman.  He was active in scouting, achieving Eagle Scout, and enjoyed camping while growing up.  Paul was president and valedictorian of his high school class.  He attended Princeton University under a ROTC scholarship.  While at home during a Christmas holiday, he was invited to join a caroling group where he met his future wife, LaVerne Troutman.  The two married 4 years later, after he finished his deployment with the Navy.  Paul returned to Princeton to obtain a master’s degree in engineering before accepting a job with GE in Schenectady, NY.  Their 3 children were born in Schenectady before the family moved to Boston, MA where Paul obtained an MBA from Harvard University.  After he graduated, the family moved to Columbus, OH where Paul worked for 10 years at Industrial Nucleonics before accepting a job in Cincinnati, OH at Xomox Corporation.  Paul worked at Xomox for 10 years before joining his wife at their travel agency and fulfilled their lifelong passion of traveling the world.  They continued to travel after moving to Fearrington, NC in 2001.  Paul continued to travel with his children and grandchildren after his wife died in 2014.  Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Eura; wife, LaVerne; and his daughter Heather Troutman.  Paul is survived by his daughter, Jenny Troutman of Leawood, KS, his son, Gregory Blair Troutman and his wife, Diane, of Seattle, WA and their two children, Emma Troutman and Wade Troutman.  Paul cherished most time spent with his family and friends.  He will be remembered for the warmth and kindness that he displayed to all people.  A Celebration of Life will be held at Galloway Ridge at a date to be announced.  Donations to the CORA food pantry in Pittsboro or the Lynn Savitzky library at Galloway Ridge are requested in his remembrance.  Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory is honored to serve the Troutman family.
