Patricia Cook Dobbins died on December 26, 2025. She was born in Gallatin, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Lassie Frye Cook and Marshall Cook. She graduated as valedictorian from Gallatin High School and magna cum laude from the University of Tennessee with a B.S. in Journalism. She earned Teacher Certification at Georgia State University and Paralegal Certification at the Center for Paralegal Training, Atlanta, Georgia. Her early employment included airline stewardess with United Air Lines and civilian recreation and program director with the US Army Special Services, Fulda, Germany. Most of her adult life was spent in Atlanta, GA where she taught high school English, worked as a legal assistant, and retired as a claims representative with the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services. A resident of North Carolina since 1996, Ms. Dobbins was a volunteer for the Ronald McDonald House, Chapel Hill, NC. She was also a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority and U.T. Alumni Association.
She was predeceased by her son, Scott Clayton Dobbins, who remained her ultimate blessing. She is survived by two grandsons, Graham Clayton Dobbins and Avery Lee Dobbins (Brooke). In addition, she enjoyed a long and loving relationship with Laura and Fleet Morgan of Pittsboro, NC. According to her wishes, there will be no memorial service, and her cremains will be scattered at a predetermined place by her grandson, Avery, and his wife, Brooke. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Ronald McDonald House, 101 Old Mason Farm Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27514.
