Patricia Louise (Hardee) Britt

Heaven gained an angel, Monday, May 2, 2022 when Patricia Louise Britt, 74, closed her eyes
while surrounded by her loving earthly family, only to open them in the midst of her loving Father and
eternal family.

A native of Orange County, Pat was born August 26, 1947, to the late Elbert and Wilma
Hardee. She worked at the University of North Carolina for 17 years and was an
avid Tar Heel fan. Pat enjoyed applying makeup and cosmetics, a day of shopping, playing with
poodles and having a good cry over a great Hallmark movie. She loved crafting, especially
working with beads. Pat always admired flowers, especially the hundreds of roses that her
husband, John grew.

Pat will be missed by all who knew her. She lived her life honorably and cared deeply for her
family and friends. She was a faithful wife, a loving mother and a nurturing grand and great-
grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Hardee.
Surviving Pat is her husband John Britt, of the home; her son, David “Zeke” Sparrow, Jr, of
Pittsboro, NC; her daughters, Melanie Lester (Robert), of Pittsboro and Monica Dixon, of High
Point, NC; four grandchildren, Chelsea Langemann (Jamie), Ashley Dixon, Megan Green and Alexandria
Green; nine great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Gail Hardee of Chapel Hill, NC and Sunnee
Hallman (Benny), also of Chapel Hill, NC.

The Funeral for Mrs. Britt will be held 2:00p.m., on Monday, May 9, 2022 at Mt. Gilead Baptist
Church – 1785 Mt. Gilead Church Road in Pittsboro, NC with the Rev. Dan Robinson and Rev.
Wesley Thomas officiating. A Visitation will start at 1:00p.m.
