Patricia Bielonko

Patricia “Pat” Ott Bielonko, of Pittsboro, NC and formerly of Berlin, CT died peacefully following a brief illness Wednesday afternoon, July 3, 2024 at the Jim & Betsy Bryan UNC Hospice Home surrounded by her family. Pat was born on June 4, 1952 to the late John and Mary Ott of New Britain, CT.

She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Upsala College in 1974, and her Master’s in Business Administration from UConn in 1980. She spent the majority of her career as an analyst for a local utility company before retiring with her husband to Pittsboro, North Carolina in 2016. She will be remembered as someone who was very active in the local community and loved sharing time with friends for both charitable and social causes. Making friends easily with her charm and affability, she regularly joined her neighbors for an array of activities from Mahjong, to book club, to water aerobics.

An active traveler, Pat frequently vacationed abroad and domestically with her friends and loved ones. Some regular destinations were Key West, New Orleans, Bermuda, and holidays with family in California. Some of her favorite trips included river cruises through Europe on the Rhine and Seine with her husband and friends. She and Mike recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in Hilton Head, South Carolina where they often enjoyed relaxing by the ocean. She always set aside time for mother-daughter trips, including off-road jeep tours in Sedona, a tour of her familial homeland of Ireland, and a cruise to Alaska where they rode dog sleds across a glacier.

In addition to her husband, Michael, she leaves behind her son, Rich and his wife, Kellie and her daughter, Amanda and her husband Sean, as well as her brother Daniel. Services will be held privately with family and close friends.
