Nita Joy Ellis Blalock

Nita Joy Ellis Blalock, age 66, of Pittsboro, died Friday, April 24, 2026, at UNC Hospital.

Nita was born in Durham County, North Carolina on January 2, 1960, to Joyce Massey Ellis and the late Ralph Ellis.

She was preceded in death by her first husband of twenty-two years Larry Blalock and second husband Kenny Daniels.

In addition to her mother, she is also survived by two daughters, Crystal Blalock Harris and husband Jason of Pittsboro, Lindsey Blalock White and husband Walker of Monroe, North Carolina, six grandchildren, Hailey Harris, Jase Harris, Leah White, Ada White, Caleb White, Beau White, one brother, Danny Ellis of Southern Pines, North Carolina, one sister, Angela Skinner and husband Graham of Sanford, and many nieces and nephews.

She had a true gift for caring for others and spent her life loving deeply. She found joy in gardening, cooking, and baking, but her greatest joy was her family -  especially her six grandchildren, whom she loved beyond measure. She will be remembered as a loving, kind soul whose warmth, compassion, and gentle spirit touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

The funeral service will be held  Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 11:00AM at Berea Baptist Church with Pastor Phil Mumford presiding. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorial contributions to be made in Nita’s memory to Berea Baptist Church P.O. Box 110343 Durham, NC 27709.
