Michael Layne Mineer

Michael Layne Mineer, age 55, of Bear Creek, ascended the physical realm for his heavenly home on Monday, May 8, 2023.

Michael was born in Fleming County, Kentucky on January 29, 1968, to the late William Brooks Mineer and Janice Emmons Carpenter. He was preceded in death by one sister, Trish Carpenter.

Left to cherish all that he is are his partner-in-love and son- Jamelle Emerson and Jagger Emerson of Bear Creek, NC. He also leaves behind four sisters: Jennifer Rowe (Michael) of Taylor Mill, KY, Kristie Catching-Bellew (Austin) of Maysville, KY, Gina Catching-Leet (Mike) of Maysville, KY, Becky McGinnis (Jamie) of Maysville, KY, stepmother Freda Mineer of Flemingsburg, KY, stepdad, Danny Carpenter (Karen) of Flemingsburg, KY, and other cherished aunts, uncles, and extended family members.

Also left to cherish his memory are friends, Johnny Thomas of Bennett, NC, Matthew Dodson of Graham, NC, Joe Seawell of Bear Creek, NC, a special mother-son duo in Kelly Fowler and Cameron Fowler, both of Pittsboro, NC, and a host of local and out-of-area friends.

The family will receive friends Monday, May 15, 2023, at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory Griffin Chapel from 5:30PM to 7:30PM. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 12:03PM at Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center with Pastor Michael Rowe presiding.
