Margie Lee Seymour Boone, age 100, died Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Parkview Retirement Center. She was born on June 11, 1924, in Chatham County, NC to the late Robert Seymour and Bessie Thrailkill Seymour.
Margie was born and raised in the Bells Community. She was next to the youngest of seven children. Her siblings and their cousins loved to go to the beach and fish. She was married for 67 years prior to her husband, James, death. Margie was a member of Hanks Chapel Christian Church for 75 years.
Not only was she an avid fisherwoman, but she also enjoyed shell searching while at her beach house, for sand dollars and sharks’ teeth. Margie was a wonderful cook, and she had a beautiful vegetable garden where she canned and froze her vegetables. Spending time with her grandchildren was very special to her and to them, going to the beach and fishing. She also was great seamstress making clothes and costumes. She loved her family, and they loved her dearly. She will be missed greatly by those who knew and loved her.
She was predeceased by her parents, her siblings, Louise Howard, Gladys Truelove, Russell Seymour, Lawrence Seymour, Milton Seymour and Lula Mae Bryant.
Margie is survived by her daughters, Betty Sue Griffin (Gene), Jo Ann Thomas (Eddie), grandchildren, Keith Griffin (Kim), Karen Horne (Marty), Ben Thomas (Angela), Aaron Thomas (Brittany) and 10 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 1:00-1:50PM and funeral service to follow at 2 PM at Hanks Chapel Christian Church with a burial immediately following. Pastors Bob Wachs and Steve Moore presiding.
