Miss Margie Huneycutt, 86, passed away Monday, August 23, 2021 at the Siler City Center in Siler City, NC.
Margie was born June 29, 1935 in Fayetteville, NC to the late William Jerome Huneycutt and Jessie Sims. She was also preceded in death by her sister Melicent Huneycutt-Vergeer, brothers-in-law Curtis Basham and John Vergeer and sister-in-law Doris Huneycutt.
Margie was a graduate of Appalachian State Teachers College. She held many jobs throughout her life all centering on the home. She began her career as a State extension agent in Home Economics, and then transitioned to Real Estate in the greater Charlotte/Mecklenburg area.
Following her dream to have her own business, she moved to Davidson, NC and started Flags for All Occasions; designing and producing decorative flags. She then moved to Pittsboro, NC to help care for her mother and again created her own business, The Chatham Rabbit, specializing in home décor.
Surviving relatives are her sister, Carolyn Basham of Winston Salem; brother, Jerome Huneycutt of Pittsboro; nieces and nephews, Jessica and Arley Mitchell, Megg and Carl Martin and William and Tracy Huneycutt; and many great-nieces and nephews.
She will be laid to rest at 11:00AM Saturday, August 28, 2021 in the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery in Stanfield, NC.
The Reverend Evan Harrison will officiate the service.
