Margaret Ann McLaurin passed away peacefully at her home built by her Daddy (Eva Hart) surrounded by family on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at the age of 93. She was born in Chatham County, NC on July 15, 1927 to Eva Carl and Roxie Dawkins Hart. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Joe McLaurin of 69 years of wedded bliss and son, Darrell McLaurin, twin to Harrell McLaurin. She was one of seven children, Allen, Arthur, Mildred, Carl Lee, and twin sisters, Dorothy and Doris.
She is survived by her sister Doris Hart Denny of Rockingham, NC, sons Harrell McLaurin (Sadie) of Bear Creek, NC and Keith McLaurin of the home. She loved her six grandchildren, Yvonne McLaurin Moore (Dan) of Mt. Vernon, IL; Monica McLaurin Small (Scott) of Kitty Hawk, NC; Chris McLaurin (Sommer) of Fuquay Varina, NC; Emily McLaurin of San Diego, CA; Joey McLaurin of Kansas City, KS; and Lucy McLaurin of San Diego, CA. She loved and immensely enjoyed visits from her seven great grandchildren, McKenzie, Madison, and Tripp Moore, Roxie and D.C. Small, and Finley and Harper McLaurin and many nieces, nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.
Margaret Ann was an avid gardener and excellent cook. She shared her love of food and family with many. She was a devoted community member by lending a helping hand to those who needed love and support during challenging times. She was an active member of Rives Chapel Church for many years and served on the Rives Chapel Cemetery Committee. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Rives Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or the Anitoch Chrisitian Church Cemetery Fund.
Graveside services to be held on Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Rives Chapel Baptist Church at 2:00 pm. A celebration of life will be planned when we can gather safely to exchange love and gratitude for the wonderful life of Margaret Ann.
