Margaret Christine (Dickson) Dewhurst

Margaret Christine Dickson Dewhurst, 102, passed away Sunday, November 6th, 2022.

She had had a lively visit and dinner with her granddaughter, Adrian, and her great-granddaughter, Lily, just a few hours before her sudden passing. Earlier that day, she had a high-spirited video visit with her childhood friend Betty Dryer, age 100.

Margaret was originally from Providence, RI, born June 9, 1920. Her parents, Margaret McClellan and John Trew Dickson, were from Ireland. 

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Donald, Sr, in 2008, as well as her siblings: Joseph, Grace, John and Mae, and a great-great grandson, Skylar. 

 She is survived by her three children, Arthur (Jeanne), Linda, and Donald, II (Alice). Margaret was blessed with 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren, and many adoring nieces and nephews.  

Margaret spent most of her life as a homemaker and enjoyed helping others through Christian Women’s Clubs and her church. She was a faithful wife, devoted mother, and doting grandmother, who will be remembered by her friendliness and love of celebrations of all kinds. 

She was laid to rest Wednesday, November 9th, 2022, at Chatham Memorial Park Cemetery in Siler City, NC.
