Marcia Marie Gretsinger

Marcia Marie Gretsinger, age 65, died at Brookdale of Cary, on Sunday, March 16, 2025. She was born June 15, 1959, in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania to Sandra Gresock Gretsinger and the late William C. Gretsinger. Marcia was raised in Newfane, New York. Briefly she lived in Key West, Florida, which she adored. Marcia moved to North Carolina in the 1980’s.

Marcia loved nature, wildlife, and all animals. Especially cats which were evident in her love for the Carolina Tiger Rescue. Her German Shepard named Wishbone was the love of her life outside of her daughter and grandson. She was a free spirit, spunky, and good natured. A unique individual with a unique sense of style;  platform shoe lover; different from other people. Her daughter said she had a childlike heart.

Marcia worked for FGI as a telephone call center operator and then for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill  in the Security Department.

She is survived by her daughter, Merissa (Jonathan) Lineberry, grandson, Joshua James Lineberry of Pittsboro, NC, Mother Sandra Gresock Gretsinger of Newfane NY, brother, William Todd (Mary) Gretsinger of Indiana, nephew, Redmond (Bianna) Gretsinger, nephew Gordon (Alyssa, Melvin, Graham) Gretsinger and additional family members, Wayne Schumacher, David Schumacher, Paula Flint, Donna Barney, Mary Jane Schumacher, Becky Palmer and Diane Short.

Visitation at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, March 21st from 5-7PM. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 1PM at Concord Cemetery, 3648 Craven Branch Road, Siler City, North Carolina with the Rev. Sam Harris presiding.
