Macie Jean (Mooney) Adair, 85, of Swift Creek Health Center at the Templeton of Cary, NC, passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 in Swift Creek Health Center.
Jean was born on August 25, 1935, in Tallapoosa County, Alabama, a daughter of Albert Farrow Mooney and Josie Dollar Mooney.
Jean was a lifelong Christ follower, member of Sixth Street Baptist Church in Alexander City where she enjoyed caring for the infants and toddlers in the Church Nursery for many years. In 2013, Jean moved to Apex, NC to be closer to family where she attended Merritt’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Chapel Hill, NC
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Dee Adair, brothers: Howard, J P, Joe, Maynard, and Roy Mooney; sisters: Claudie Hawthorne, Odell Allred and Lorene Mask.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Kathy Adair Bartholomew (John) and son, Ronald Keith Adair (Annette). Grandchildren: Seth Adair Bartholomew, Brent Forsythe (Amanda), Wren Forsythe (Heather), Hannah Bruce (James), and Tyler Forsythe (Joanna). Great-Grandchildren: Ramya Rios, Carina Cora, Aidan Sanborn, Orion Forsythe; Sibling: Agnes (Mooney) LePage.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at the home of Keith and Annette Adair on April 10, 2021. Burial will be conducted by Radney Funeral Home in Alexander City on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, at Hillview Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a memorial be made to the Merritt’s Chapel UMC at 1090 Farrington Point Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27517.
