Lynn Nimmo Obituary

Lynn Gerard Nimmo, 81, a beloved mother and grandmother passed away at her home in Pittsboro North Carolina on August 5th, 2025 with her family by her side.

She was born on April 6th 1944 in Plainfield New Jersey to Edward P. Gerard and Mildred  Gerard.  She is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her loving husband Mark Nimmo, her Brothers Ned Gerard and Kip Gerard, and her sisters Jan Keil and Jill McPhail.  She is also survived by her daughter Tracy Magliocco and son Bruce Magliocco as well as her three grandchildren, Tralyn Magliocco Sandy, Destyn Rader and Jaedyn Rader.

All three grandchildren were given first names ending in “yn” to honor Lynn.

Lynn was a great athlete in younger years as well as later years, winning many Tennis championships.  Her snow skiing talents led her to Jr. Olympics, and baseball and softball were favorites as well.  She loved spending time with family and traveling.  She loved the great outdoors and enjoyed gardening and hiking.  She was particularly talented with arts and crafts, making handcrafted items that she loved to share with friends and family.  Lynn loved collecting unusual items, like glass blown balls and figurines.  She collected rocks and minerals, and loved the beauty of even simple rocks, lining her driveway and gardens with them.  She loved cooking and baking and was always inviting to friends to join in family events.  Lynn was always willing to lend a helping hand to strangers in need and will forever be an inspiration to more people than we will ever know.

Lynn always had a very big heart for animals, mainly dogs and cats, but also horses and wild animals.  She could never walk past a dog that she didn’t want to stop to show her love to.

Please make any donations to the Pet Rescue Program of your choice.
