Linda (Cockman) Johnson

Linda Cockman Johnson passed away at her home on November 23, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents George H. and Omblean C. Cockman, and her siblings Ruth Shaw, Bill Cockman, and David Cockman. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kathy D. Wilson, Rufus L. Johnson, Jr. and wife, Sandy, Ginger J. Milholen and husband, Jeff. Also surviving are her beloved grandchildren; Katya Langdon, William Milholen and wife Morgan, Jefferson Milholen, and Lillian Milholen. 

Linda was born in Chatham County, NC on February 12, 1940. She spent her life making a warm home for her family that was filled with love, protection, and guidance. Her devotion to her family was without measure. She dedicated her life to creating memories with her children and grandchildren. As they played, cooked, and sewed, they formed bonds that will never be broken. For many years, she cooked the most wonderful Sunday lunches for her family, forging a foundation of love that her children and grandchildren will forever carry in their hearts. 

Linda worked hard throughout her life. She spent many years working in the family business, R.L. Johnson Land Surveying, and treasured the time spent working with her family. 

May she rest in the arms of Jesus until we are all reunited in glory. Rest easy Grandmama. We love you. 

She was laid to rest in a private, graveside ceremony of life.
