Larrie Samual Collura

Mr. Larrie Samual Collura, 27, died Saturday morning, December 26, 2020.  He was a resident at a loving, caring, group facility for disabled adults in La Grange, North Carolina.  Larrie had a great sense of humor, and his infectious smiles and laughter made him one of the caregiving staff’s favorite clients.

Larrie was born in New Jersey, a son to Larrie F. Collura, and Linda Thorne Collura.  He loved playing with his parents, and younger brother Tyler and other family members and friends.  He loved the outdoors and being in water throughout his life, humming, whistling, smiling and making eye contact and laughing with all those around him.  He especially enjoyed the company of his dogs Jackson and Dillinger.

Larrie moved to Pittsboro with his family in 2006.  He graduated from Jordan Matthews High School in 2012.

Larrie is predeceased by his grandfather Larrie Collura (Dorothy), his aunt Dorothea Collura (Eric King), each of Jamesburg NJ, and grandfather Floyd Thorne (Jessie Farr) of Monroe Township NJ.

Larrie is survived by his father, Larrie F. Collura, mother, Linda Thorne Collura (Geo deSocio), brother Tyler Collura, and grandmother Jessie Farr, each of Pittsboro.  Also, aunt Judy Thorne of Boise ID, uncles Ken Thorne (Ruth) of Princeton NJ and Dave Thorne of Lawrenceville NJ,  uncle Anthony Collura (Linda) of Cranbury NJ.  And Bernadette Squindo of Florida.

A memorial and celebration of Larrie’s life will be announced by the family at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests considering a donation to The Autism Society of NC or CORA Food Pantry of Pittsboro, NC
