Kathy Moll passed away in her sleep on the morning of March 11, 2026. She is no longer in pain and will rest peacefully in eternity, surrounded by generations of her beloved dogs.
Kathy was an avid collie lover and dog show enthusiast. She founded and ran the Deep River collie line for several decades, ensuring each dog found a loving home and success in the ring, and the Collie Rescue of the Carolinas, so that no dog would go without a home.
Her legacy will live on through her teachings, as Kathy was an avid mentor and coached countless new trainers to success during her career. Each new generation of trainers her mentees teach will carry a piece of her with them as they love and work alongside their beloved pets.
Kathy is survived by her brother and sister, John Van Leur and Kim Reiner, her uncle Jim Bowden, two nephews and her honorary grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joan and Jack Van Leur.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Collie Rescue of the Carolinas, which Kathy founded.
Donaldson Funeral Home and Crematory is honored to serve the family of Kathy Moll.
