June Peoples Trageser, age 81, died Saturday, May 3, 2025.
A lifelong resident of Pittsboro, June was born in Durham, NC on December 2, 1943. She graduated from Pittsboro High School before she attended St. Mary’s Junior College and graduated from High Point College. She taught second grade at Pittsboro Elementary School. June raised her children before returning as a travel agent with Four Seasons Travel in Greensboro and then with Aaron Travel in Pittsboro.
June was preceded in death by her parents, Junius Nathaniel Peoples and Pauline Taylor Peoples and her sister, Siewers Anne Trogdon. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Joe Trageser, daughter, Susan Trageser, son, Paul Trageser III, grandson, Paul Trageser IV and granddaughter, Caroline Trageser.
Visitation will be on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 3:00-5:00PM at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory Griffin Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting a contribution be made in her memory to the Hospice House in Pittsboro at UNC Health Foundation ATTN: Tina 123 West Franklin Street Chapel Hill, NC 27516 and on memo line indicate Hospice House Pittsboro.
The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to the SECU Jim & Betsy Bryan Hospice House for their care and compassion.
