John Kevin Charles

John Kevin Charles, devoted husband, father, son and Pawpaw, 72 of Durham, NC, passed away on November 6, 2024.  John was born in Paddington London to Bernard and Teresa Charles.  After moving to Brooklyn with his parents and finishing school John set off to travel the country.  During his travels is when he met his wife Cheryl W. Charles on Franklin Street, Chapel Hill in 1976.  John and Cheryl went on to have two children, Daniel Charles of Hillsborough, NC and Jessica Charles of Chapel Hill, NC.  John loved to spend his free time listening to music and traveling with his wife Cheryl, foraging for mushrooms and spending time with his family.  

John is survived by his wife Cheryl, his children Daniel and Jessica and his grandchildren Tessa, James, Daniela and Liam. John was proceeded in death by his parents Bernard and Teresa Charles.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, November 17, 2024, at 2pm at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory Griffin Chapel. A celebration of life will follow.
