John Calvin Britt

John Calvin Britt died on January 2, 2026, at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro, NC.  He was born on August 31, 1941, to the late William C. Britt and Johnsie Davis Britt in Moore County, North Carolina.

John served in the Army for nine years, where he was a diesel mechanic instructor, with the rank of Sergeant First Class.  After his military service, he opened his own diesel mechanic shop and was an inventor with three patents.  He was continually working on his current invention until his health sidelined him.

John married the love of his life, Pat, in 1982 and was a God sent angel as he was the loving and faithful caregiver for her until her death in 2022.   He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Archdale. 

John is predeceased by his parents, brothers Boyd Britt and Floyd Britt, and his sister, Shirley Williamson.  He is survived by his stepson, David Sparrow, Jr (Zeke), stepdaughters, Monica Dixon and Melanie Lester, his brother Kenneth Britt and his fiancé, Cheryl Britt, his sister, Thelma Morgan and her husband Frank, Step grandchildren, Chelsea Langemann, Ashley Dixon, Megan Green and Alexandria Green and seven step great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 1PM at Mt Gilead Baptist Church in Pittsboro, NC followed by the funeral service at 2PM and burial immediately after in the church cemetery.  Pastor Dan Robinson and Dr. Wesley Thomas will be officiating.
