Jody Lynn Kulick (nee Stevens) is a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend to many passed away peacefully on March12, 2026 in Pittsboro, NC. She was 68 years old.
Jody was born on March 20, 1957, in Ridgewood, NJ. She graduated from Northern Highlands Regional High School in1975. Her academic journey continues at the University of Vermont where she graduated in 1979 and met the love of her life, George Kulick. Later in life, Jody pursued her passion for learning by getting a degree in Drafting from Brookdale Community College. After moving to Pittsboro, she further enriched her life by taking photography courses at the University of North Carolina’s Friday Center.
George and Jody built a beautiful life together with love and adventure. They raised two children: their sone Tory Kulick and wife Marianne, and their daughter Courtney Gardner and her husband Samuel. Jody adored her grandchildren – Emmett Kulick, “best girl,” Babe Gardner, and Birdie Gardner – lovingly called her “Jammers’”. She delighted in sending them care packages and creating special memories during family visits.
A woman of many talents and passions. Jody had a deep love for photography and gardening. Her artistic eye captured countless moments that reflected her approach to beauty in everyday life. She dedicated herself to volunteering for the University of Vermont Alumni Association by assisting with donations and later in attending college fairs to recruit future students. Her enthusiasm for sports extended beyond spectating: while in New Jersey, Jody coached youth soccer, softball, and basketball. When she moved to Pittsboro, Jody competed and medaled in several swimming races in the Chatham count Senior games at the Duke Center for Living.
Jody found joy in simple pleasures: enjoying going out for coffee, savoring hamburgers grilled by George, happy hours, and spending time at the family’s beach house on Long Beach Island, NJ. She loved watching the Olympics and after moving to Pittsboro she embraced the Duke-UNC rivalry. March Madness became an annual highlight for her as she cheered for her favorite team.
Above all else, Jody will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family. She was a source of boundless love and encouragement – a presence who brought warmth and light into every room she entered.
May Jody’s memory bring comfort to those that knew her best and inspire others to live with the same generosity of spirit that defined her remarkable life.
