Jeffrey Wayne Kemp

Jeffrey Wayne Kemp, age 56, of Willow Spring, passed away Saturday, July 29, 2023.  He was born August 5, 1966, in New Brighton, Pennsylvania; the son of Otto and Ann (Staton) Kemp. 

Jeff worked various jobs with his father until he became a punchman for Squire Homes, now called Beazer Homes. Jeff became a superintendent before his early retirement for Atrius Homes and American Homesmith. He took great pride in building residential homes making the buyers dream come true.  He worked on two of the ABC Extreme Home Makeover shows.  He built playhouses to raise money for the battered women shelters.  He was always tinkering around with something whether it was modifying everything in the house to building a Volksrod.  He explored kite flying, guitar building, wood working, if it interested him, he was all into it.  He loved his family and loved being surrounded by them.  He’s left a huge void in their lives.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents.  He is survived by his spouse of 23 years, Renee Kemp, of the home; son Jeffrey Kemp of Zebulon, NC; Wesley Evans of Garner, NC;  Nina Kemp of Willow Spring, NC; Vince (Cory) Evans of Willow Spring, NC; brother-in-law Jeffrey Johnson of Edwardsburg, MI; Granddaughters Faith Rapanotti, Elizabeth Evans, Serenity Stoneham  and Harlie Cain; Grandsons Shawn Evans,  Logan Kemp and Kevin Spitler;  Aunt Sondra (George) Fresty of Westlake, OH  and several cousins.  There are so many others that were considered part of the family.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 p.m. on August 20, 2023, at his home, 7808 Afton Lane, Willow Spring, NC 27592.  Bring your Jeff stories.  We will cry til we laugh or laugh til we cry.
