Mr. Jeffery E. Breheny, 50, passed away on Thursday, September 15, at his home in Pittsboro, North Carolina. Jeff was born on November 11, 1971, in Davenport, Iowa to the late Edward J. Breheny and Joan K. Colville.
He graduated from Bettendorf High School, Bettendorf, IA and studied criminal justice at Scott Community College. He pursued his life-long interest in the field of security and law enforcement and provided security services with various organizations throughout the Quad City area. most recently in Chatham and Durham counties in NC. His all-time favorite baseball team was the Chicago Cubs, without a doubt!
Jeff discovered his highest and best call to service with a Christian based nonprofit organization, One Eighty, in Davenport, IA. A graduate and longtime employee of One Eighty, Jeff was always known as a great friend who loved to serve others. Among Jeff’s greatest contributions to One Eighty was his dedication and commitment to the West End Initiative, a program that gave kids in need the opportunity to learn to golf, go fishing, attend cookouts, Christmas celebrations and many other fun activities and events. One Eighty exists to bring hope, love, and opportunity to people and communities impacted by crisis, poverty, or addiction; all accomplished by helping people build a relationship with Jesus Christ and assisting local churches and organizations to connect with their communities.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents and his half-brother, Norman Elsasser, Jr.
Survivors include his half-sister and brother-in-law Judy and Jerry Johnston, Pittsboro, NC, half-sisters Susie Breheny and Sally Breheny from Davenport, Iowa, and his half-brothers Gregory Elsasser, Sanford, NC, and Terry Breheny and Mark Breheny from Davenport, Iowa.
