Janie Gray (Hearn) Brown

Janie Hearn Brown, age 100, died at her home, Tuesday, December 3, 2024.  She was born in Chatham County on December 18, 1923, to the late Charlie Hearn and Hettie Gardner Hearn.  She was a resident of Pittsboro Christian Village for several years.   

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Jesse and Van Fuller, her husband, Jack Brown and a son, Jerry Brown. 

Janie loved birds, cats and flowers.  She was a 1941 graduate of Bells High School. She retired from UNC Hospitals. She was the oldest member of New Elam Christian Church 

She is survived by nieces, Debby Dugdale of Germany, Pamela Dunne of Phoenix, Arizona and Angel Chalk of Wake Forest, North Carolina.

A Graveside service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, at 11:00Am at New Elam Christian Church Cemetery 3290 Pea Ridge Road New Hill, NC with Pastor Ed Earp presiding.
