“If you're going to live, leave a legacy. Make a mark on the world that can't be erased.” Maya Angelou
Janice Mae MacLeod passed peacefully the morning of January 6th, 2025, at the age of 83. Janice was born in Springfield, Massachusetts and married the love of her life, Richard MacLeod, right after high school. For the next 21 years her love for adventure was born, while she traveled the world with her husband during his 21-year service in the United States Air Force.
Her generosity and kindness knew no boundaries, and her most cherished accomplishments were her family.
Janice was a loving mother to Lisa Gough (Mark), Cherie Stanislawski (Matt), and Rich MacLeod. She was a special grandmother to Kelly Boyd (Michael), Nick Stanislawski (Hilary), Melissa Mongia (Sameer), Jahn Billaber, Alex Haven, and Atticus McCormick. She was an “extra special” great grandmother to Emma, Kyle, Max, Madeline, Mason, Lily, Lila, and Aaron.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Lillian and Milton Robar, her siblings Jackie, Eileen and Milton, her great granddaughter Lily Mae Stanislawski, and her loving husband of 49 years Richard MacLeod.
Janice lived life to the fullest. She loved traveling, her garden, crafting, cooking, shopping, her cats, and hosting holidays and special occasions. She had the best sense of humor, the kindest heart, was the best mom, friend and neighbor, but she especially loved spoiling her grandchildren.
Her spirit lives on through the love that she instilled in all of us and the beautiful memories she created.
A celebration of her life will be held at Pittsboro United Methodist Church in the Family Life Center on Feb 15th at 2pm.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the St. Judes Children Hospital. www.stjude.org
