Janice Ralphine (Williams) Johnson

Janice Williams Johnson, age 88, of Pittsboro, NC passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Genesis Siler City Center. Janice was born in Lee County on March 17, 1937, to the late Ralph and Lillie Williams. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Johnson, son Michael Carroll, brothers Don and Charles Williams and sister Norma Johnson.

Janice is survived by her son Walter Johnson (Rebecca), daughter Jane Carroll, sister Gail Baker, grandsons Kelly Bryant, Joel Bryant (Erin), Eric Bryant (Melissa), Carter Johnson, Conner Johnson, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Janice worked faithfully for Chatham County Schools at Pittsboro Elementary School until her retirement in November 2002. She loved children and always loved to hear about the accomplishments of her former students.

Janice was a devoted member of Emmaus Baptist Church and took immense joy in her involvement with her Sunday School class. Her church family blessed her life in many ways over the years, and she treasured the friendships and fellowship that church provided for her.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation for the calls, visits, support, and prayers received during the last several months. A special thank you to Genesis Siler City Center and Liberty Home Care & Hospice for their exceptional and tender care.

A service to honor Janice’s life and legacy will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Emmaus Baptist Church, 2430 Silk Hope Gum Springs Road, Pittsboro, NC  27312. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00-10:50 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Emmaus Baptist Church, 2430 Silk Hope Gum Springs Road, Pittsboro, NC or Liberty Home Care & Hospice, 401 E. 3rd Street, Siler City, NC.
