Jane Lois (Downey) Emery

Jane Lois Downey Emery, age 86, of Pittsboro, died Sunday, September 27, 2020 at UNC Hospitals.

Jane was born in Dearborn, Michigan on December 28, 1933 to the late John Downey and Noema Dupuis Downey. She was also preceded in death by one grandchild Alexandra Springer, and four brothers; James, John, Charles, and William.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Robert Emery of Pittsboro, children Allison Springer of Siler City, Robin Sacobasin of Chelsea, Massachusetts, John Emery of Salt Lake City, Utah, James Emery of Piermont, New Hampshire, Shannon Thomas and husband Donald of Norwood, Massachusetts, Jennifer Baron and husband Raymond of Marlborough, Massachusetts, Jason Emery and wife Amakca of Blackstone, Massachusetts, 13 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

A private service will be held.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for memorial contributions to be made in Jane’s memory to United Leukodystrophy 224 N. Second Street, Suite 2, DeKalb, IL 60115.
