Jacqueline Verrando O'Gorman

Mrs. Jacqueline “Jackie” Verrando O’Gorman, 90, of Pittsboro, NC, passed away on May 10, 2025, after a period of declining health.

Born June 16, 1934, in the Bronx, NY, Jackie was the beloved daughter of Marcel and Katherine Verrando. She graduated from Pelham High School and married John J. O’Gorman Jr. on August 6, 1955. Together, they raised six children in Yonkers, NY, before relocating to Pittsboro following John’s retirement from ConEdison. Jackie was a devoted member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Chapel Hill, NC.

Patricia O’Gorman Hurlman of New Hill, NC

Lisa O’Gorman of Pine Bush, NY

Christopher D. O’Gorman and wife Joan of Hopewell Junction, NY

Denise O’Gorman Nowak and husband Peter of Pittsboro, NC

She was a proud grandmother to eleven: Jamie Christopher-Handcock, Timothy Christopher, Ian O’Gorman, Bryan Hurlman, Christopher Sean Hurlman, Kaitlin Hurlman-Brueggeman, Katherine (Kathy) Nowak, Erin Nowak-Stanley, Megan Nowak, Christopher James O’Gorman, and Elizabeth O’Gorman. She was also blessed with six great-grandchildren: Olivia, Emily, Delaney, Evelyn, Hazel, and Adalyn.

A visitation will be held on May 14, from 3–8 p.m. at Donaldson Funeral Service and Crematory, Pittsboro, NC.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on May 15, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Chapel Hill, NC.

Following the service, a celebration of Jackie’s life will be held at Havoc Brewery in Pittsboro. All are welcome to join the family in sharing stories and memories as we raise a glass in honor of her journey to eternal life.
