Henry Allen Langley, age 89, of Pittsboro, died Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Cambridge Hills Assisted Living.
Allen was born in Chatham County, North Carolina on May 27, 1931 to the late John Langley and Iola Langley. He was also preceded in death by his wife Frances Elkins Langley.
Allen enjoyed talking on his ham radio, going fishing at the coast, collecting trains, reading the funny papers on Sundays, walking his beloved dog “Rusty” and spending time with his family.
Allen and his wife Frances ran a TV and Appliance Business for a number of years before he went to work at Allied Chemical, where he later retired. He also helped his wife manage the “Shady Rest Motel” here in Pittsboro.
Surviving relatives include three sons; Ron Langley and wife Robin of Knightdale, Greg Langley and wife Janet of Sanford, Timmy Langley, and wife Lisa of Pittsboro, one daughter; Sandy Green and husband Ken of Pittsboro, and three grandchildren; John Langley, Raven Langley, and Kenley Green.
A Graveside Service with military honors will be held Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 1:00PM at Hanks Chapel Church cemetery with Rev. Bob Wachs presiding.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions to be made in Allen’s memory to Hanks Chapel Church Cemetery Fund P.O Box 366 Pittsboro, NC 27312.
