Gregory Norman Obituary

Gregory Thomas Norman, 65, formerly of Charlottesville Virginia, passed away at his home in Bear Creek, NC on Tuesday, December 19, 2023. He was born on February 12, 1958, in Charlottesville, Virginia, to Paul Norman and the late Betty Norman.

Greg was in Sales within the automotive and heavy equipment rental and sales industries for over 45 years ending with United Rentals in Hampton, Virginia. He was born and raised within the First Assembly of God Church in Charlottesville, Virginia. Later in his life, he found his peace and tranquility at his home in Bear Creek, NC.

Greg is survived by his wife, Marybeth L Norman; daughter, Meredith Marie Norman; son, Andrew Gregory Norman and his girlfriend Keely Banks, sister, Susan M. Glass, Charlottesville, Virginia and nephews, Christian Glass and his wife Lindsay, of Manhattan, Kansas and SPC William Glass, Fort Cavazos, Texas.

Greg was most proud in his life of being “Dad” to Meredith and Andrew! He couldn’t wait to share with others what was happening in their lives, and he adored and loved them with all of his heart.
He was the loving strength and core of our family unit.

Greg was truly a one of a kind; a special person who enjoyed life to the fullest. One of the most memorable things about Greg was his wonderful sense of humor. He was an avid bass fisherman as well as a motocross, hairscramble, Gncc rider and drag racer throughout his adult life. He enjoyed all of these sports with a passion and received many awards, trophies and acknowledgments throughout his lifetime!

A memorial service TBA in Charlottesville Virginia, early 2024.
