Grace N. (Rhoades) Mathos

Grace N. Rhoades Mathos, 101, Of Moncure, NC.  Passed away surrounded by her loving family on January 21, 2023. Grace was born in St. Louis Missouri to the late William A. and Eva A. (Campbell) Rhoades.  She Resided in Moncure for the past 25 years and lived in Tampa, Florida prior to that. Grace was a proud member of the Moncure Methodist Church and the Moncure Baptist Church. Grace Loved spending her time reading, sewing and making quilts.  She was known as the Anonymous Quilter. She made many quilts for the Moncure Lions Club, her family and friends. Family was her greatest joy and she loved spending time with them as often as she could.

Grace will sadly be missed by her sons; Edward Mathos and his wife Leona, Joseph Mathos and his wife Patricia, Mark Mathos and his wife Tammie.  Her daughters; Joy Mathos, Charity (Mathos) Stevens and her husband Jack.  She is also survived by her 15 grandchildren, 24 Great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Grace was preceded in death by her former husband Edward A. Mathos in 1990.

The family will receive friends on Monday January 30th, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. at Donaldson funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday January 31st, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Moncure Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Moncure Methodist Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either Moncure Baptist church or Moncure Methodist Church or if you wish please consider planting a tree in her memory.
